22 Mar IAAS Bangladesh 1st Agri Debate Competition –To Ensure Fair wage of The Farmers, The Role of Society is More Than The Administration.
After a lot of planning and preparation, last 9th February “1st Agri Debate Competition – 2018” was held in Khulna University with the help of Agrotechnology Discipline, powered by IAAS Bangladesh under the topic “To Ensure the Fair wage of The Farmers, The Role of Society is More Than The Administration”. Students (about 50) of Life Science School participated in the debate competition. For special attraction there was a session of public speaking as well. The spontaneous participation of students brought satisfaction to the President of the competition, Professor Dr. Sarder Safiqul Islam (Head, Agrotechnology Discipline) and Chief guest Professor Dr. Asish Kumar Das (Director of Student Affairs). They were overwhelmed and advised the Organizing Committee to organize more debate competitions like this in future.
In total we had 8 teams that participated in the Program. Coping up with many ups and downs, Agrotechnology Discipline and Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering Discipline made their journey to the finals. After breathtaking debate session Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering Discipline won with flying colors. They were from the Government team and Agrotechnology Discipline was opposition team. The members of Government team was respectively Mahedi Hassan Pritom, Kamrul Hasan Rifat and Kazi Mohaimen Alam Arnop. On the other hand the opposition team members were Farzana Islam Nafila, Fatema Chowdhury and Jannatul Ferdous Mim. Best debater award was given to Mahedi Hasan Pritom. In the public speaking session Champion was Rahagir Salekeen from Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering Discipline. Agrotechnology Discipline Head Professor Dr. Sarder Safiqul Islam and Director of Student Affairs Professor Dr. Ashis Kumar Das gave away prizes and certificates among Champions and Runner Ups.
Along with participants, bunch of audience were present from different Disciplines and some of the guest judges were there from the Debating Society of Khulna University, Noiyaeek.
